Marin Country Club, 500 Country Club Drive, Novato

Stephen Frank will offer, well, a frank assessment of the 2018 elections and what they could mean for California Republicans. Mr. Frank has dedicated 50 years to political and community service. He tweets breaking news @capoliticalnews and advises on Internet use for public outreach. In 2014 he became the Senior Contributing Editor of California Political Review, which also posts Frank’s “California Political News and Views.” (www.capoliticalreview.com/capoliticalnewsandviews ). In addition to his web writing, Frank appears on television and the radio, and is a regular guest on KSFO.

Our February meeting will focus on “What issues will motivate California voters this year?” Our "bellwether state” leads the nation on many political, business and social issues, but currently stands in direct contrast to many set out by the Trump Administration: immigration issues, tax policy, and even marijuana use. Will these hot topics drive citizens to the polls?  Will the state’s infamous gas tax motivate more to vote Republican? Frank will highlight promising races and offer ideas for how we can organize to attract voters and work around Sacramento’s one party shenanigans - and what can we accomplish in time for the June 5 nonpartisan,"Top Two,” California primary.

Mr. Frank lives in Southern California with his wife of 45 years; they have two grown daughters. He served in Viet Nam, First Infantry Division, and then worked for seven years on behalf of prisoners and those missing in action. Along with Bob Dornan, he developed of POW/MIA bracelet. Among his many varied interesting volunteer positions, he served as President, Girl Scout Councils of California.
