The Novato Republican Women, Federated is offering $5,000 worth of college scholarships to high school seniors living in Marin County who will be entering college in the fall of 2020. The top three winners will receive an award. First prize is $2,500, the second prize is $1,500 and third prize is $1,000.

Our Essay Contest asks students to consider the importance and relevance of individual subjects such as liberty, respect for the U.S. Constitution, governmental fiscal discipline and the role, size and impact of our government on our society.

Each award will be granted on the basis of an essay. We ask for grade point average, and scholastic and extracurricular accomplishments as an enhancement to the application. A high school transcript is required. Essays must include a title and bibliography, and direct quotes should be identified in footnotes. Please pay attention to the essay evaluation criteria stated on the application form.
